1. What kind of Free Company is Liberty Industries?

We are a heavy RP FC. What that means is the major focus of our FC is roleplaying. We are not a group of raiders. However, we do have people who like clearing content both within the FC and as part of RP contacts. It is not a central focus of the FC. We don't organize groups for high-end content. We do like to get together for map groups, roulettes, and helping people complete the MSQ.

2. What sort of RP does Liberty Industries do?

LI is ICly an independent research organization. What that means is they are a group of researchers focused on various projects but not tied to any political or military groups. The Eorzean Alliance is not directing LI's work. They do not have powerful Monetarists or Ishgardian nobles investing in their work. They are fully independent and free of outside influence. They sometimes take on freelance jobs. Check out the RP Projects section of our website for examples of research work they're doing!

3. Is Liberty Industries an 18+ group?

In truth, we have found that a majority of FFXIV players are already 18+ so we don't have a hardline rule about that. Most of us are 30 or older. We consider ourselves an 18+ group not because we engage in mature / adult content (we don't have an NSFW discord channel and never will, for example) but because we expect 18+ levels of maturity in how we treat one another.

4. What is the atmosphere of the LI group?

People have said our chat and interactions are something like "business casual." We try to keep a fun yet mature atmosphere. Everyone is expected to act like adults with each other no matter what topic gets brought up. We have silly moments. We have moments where the conversation can get onto risque or controversial topics (politics, for example). In all things you are asked to be mature. It's okay to engage with discussions just as it's okay to disengage. It's also okay to avoid them outright if that's what's most comfortable. If someone expresses discomfort with a given topic it's expected that person's wishes are respected. Be a good neighbor!

5. What is the policy on swearing?

To keep our FC atmosphere light, we ask everyone to limit their swearing in all chat channels. The occasional curse happens, we all do it. Don't go on and on like a pirate on the Limsa Lominsa docks. In general our Discord and in-game chat channels are PG-13.

6. How do I deal with someone who I'm having a problem with?

There are officers who can help! Please try to work it out between yourselves first; however, if you feel uncomfortable with another member of the FC or the discord (including one of the officers) contact Taika or Huho so a civil compromise can be reached.

7. What are the expectations of roleplayers involved with Liberty Industries?

Like with our OOC atmosphere, we expect roleplayers to be respectful people. RPers need to keep a separation between their character and themselves. Any romance or aggressive behavior between characters should not be connected to the people playing them. We also do not tolerate characters and players who ERP in public. What you do behind closed doors is up to you. In public you are always representing Liberty Industries so you are expected to represent us well within the FFXIV community.
